NOWRUZ

بیا بیا دلبروک مو قربون تو شم، دنیا دو روزه

Come, come my nymph, your ransom my life be, this world but brief be

بیا مکن شو روز مو خورشید مو صبح نوروزه

Come and turn not my day, my sun, into night, the dawn of Nowruz it is

دیدی چطو مانند عمر یک سال برفت، سال نو اومد؟

Didn’t you see how thus a year, like life, just went away, the New Year came?

یکسال چنو تندِ برفت که پندری همی دیروزه

One year has gone away so swift, you would think it was yesterday

آی بیا که نوروزه دنیا دو روزه

O, come! It is Nowruz, this world is but brief

تا عالمی ، جون دلم، چشمم خو ورسوزه

Ever, sugar, my eyes never sleep the nights

بینه که قد تو کمون و پشت مو قوزه

For they see you an evergreen tree, tall, me doubled

بیا بیا افتو فرو شد پشت بوم کم کمکک شو شد

Come! Come! The sun sinking behind the roof, by and by night is here nigh

بیا که باز سر زد ز کوه ماه همچنو یکهو مهتو شد

Come! The moon mounted the mount over again, moonlight it is all of a sudden 

بر چه چنی بر چه چنو ایچنو مبو، دلبروک مو

Why it be so, why it be that, it shouldn’t be thus, my sweet dear

ایجور که می بینی زمونه سال به سال کهنه و نو شد

The way you see life is over, anew again, old and new every year

آی بیا که نوروزه دنیا دو روزه

O, come! It is Nowruz, this world is but brief

تا عالمی ، جون دلم، چشمم خو ورسوزه

Ever, sugar, my eyes never sleep the nights

بینه که قد تو کمون و پشت مو قوزه

For they see you an evergreen tree, tall, me doubled

بیا بیا با هم برم بند دره، یا چار بالا

Come, come! Let us go together to the Dare, or Chaar-e Balaa

مگو صبا دیره صبا ورخه بیا تا برم حالا

Don’t say “later”, later is too late, up up! Go we today

در آن دره دور از همه بی همهمه خرم و خندان

In that Dare, far from crowds, content and merry

دور از شر و شور شره با شرشر او کنم لالا

Far from city, far from madness, lulled we be with water’s murmur…

آی بیا که نوروزه دنیا دو روزه

1. Nowruz: Literally meaning The new day. The Persian New Year which concides with the beginning of Spring.

2. Band-Dare: Literally meaning The Dam of the Valley. It is a dam near Birjand.

3. Chaa-re Balaa: Literally meaning The Upper Four Countryside near Birjand and Band-e Dare
